Dr. Dre donated $10 million from his immense wealth to Compton High School to assist fund the construction of a new campus.
The rapper gave the donation to Compton High School to help with the construction of a new $200 million campus. The school recently broke ground to mark the start of the project, which will see the hip hop legend’s new performing arts center named after him.
The center will be known as the “Andre ‘Dr. Dre’ Young Performing Arts Center’.
Based on his own personal experience as a high school student, the rapper stated that the funding will assist promote youth talent from within the high school.
