Jamaican Dancehall artiste Squash’s (whose real name is Andrae Maurice Whittaker) legal troubles appear to be just at the beginning stages according to reports outlining the details of his arrest.
According to reports, Squash and a man known as Zidanne George Prescott, 24, were pulled over in a gray Mercedes-Benz on February 24 for a traffic violation.
During the stop, officers allegedly saw Squash placing an object in the glove compartment. A search revealed a modified Glock 19 ("chip Glock") and a holster on Squash’s waist, along with a Glock 35 .40 caliber pistol with an extended magazine under the driver’s seat. Prescott, who was driving, had a suspended license, leading to both men’s arrests.
Squash also faces immigration issues, as he lacks legal status in the U.S. His arrest is reportedly linked to an ongoing FBI investigation, with federal agents having observed him receiving the same firearm found in the vehicle.
While Squash has been granted a ‘General Release,’ the impact of his immigration status on his legal case remains uncertain.
The 33-year-old is scheduled to appear in court on March 26 at 9:15 AM.
