Demarco Call It Quits On Making ‘Chopping Songs’, Wants Cleaner Dancehall

Veteran dancehall artiste Demarco has announced that he is done with chopping/scamming songs, urging fellow Jamaican artistes to focus on making more commercially viable music.

Regrets falling into the hype of gun songs and underground music.

He Believes clash and gun songs showcase lyrical talent but lack commercial appeal and Encourages artistes to make "international music" with catchy hooks to expand Dancehall’s reach.

Addationally he Warns that outsiders will continue to capitalize on Dancehall if Jamaicans fail to do so themselves.

Demarco, known for hits like Fallen Soldiers and I Love My Life, is now advocating for a shift towards mainstream, globally marketable Dancehall music.
