Chris Darden, the former prosecuting attorney in OJ Simpson’s 1995 murder trial, has announced that he will formally withdraw from the Nipsey Hussle’s case and no longer represent Eric Holder, the 29-year-old man accused in the shooting death of famed Slauson-bred rapper.

Darden took to Facebook on Friday, May 10, to partially explain his rationale behind withdrawing from the case in a lengthy post.

Darden in his post thanked persons for being there for him and his family but made the decision to step away from the case due to the increase in death threats on his and the lives of members of his family.

The attorney also spoke to the Los Angeles Times today and told them the reason he took on Holder’s case is that he defends the less fortunate.
