Canadian First Nations actor Graham Greene, has died at 73.
A member of the Oneida Nation from Ontario’s Six Nations Reserve, Greene had a varied career before acting, working as a draftsman, civil technologist, steelworker, and with rock bands.
He began his acting journey in UK theatre during the 1970s, which he later credited with shaping his craft.
His major breakthrough came in 1990 with Kevin Costner’s 'Dances With Wolves', where his role as Lakota medicine man 'Kicking Bird' earned him an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor and international acclaim.
Greene went on to appear in other notable films, including the 1992 western thriller 'Thunderheart', playing tribal officer Walter Crow Horse.
