A 48 hour curfew has been imposed in sections of Central Village St. Catherine.

The curfew began at 6:00pm on Monday June 24 and will remain in effect until 6:00pm on Wednesday.

The curfew follows the murders of at least three people in the community at the weekend.

Police have so far only identified one of the victims.

Dead is 49 year old Steve Lynch otherwise called “Painter” of Frasers Close in Big Lane Central Village.

The boundaries of the curfew cover the Jamaica Defence Force range, the Windsor Heights Open Field, the Mandela Highway in the vicinity of Ashtrom and the National Water Commission pump house.

During the hours of the curfew all persons within the boundaries are required to remain within their premises unless authorized.
