Minister of Culture, Gender, Entertainment, and Sport, Olivia ‘Babsy’ Grange, has announced plans to launch phase two of Jamaica’s Entertainers Creatives Insurance Plan during Reggae Month, targeting early February.

This phase according to the Minister, will focus on health insurance for entertainment sector members who register through the E-Registry.

She highlighted special provisions for entertainers over 75 who are ineligible for traditional insurance, offering them access to services through the Ministry of Labour and Social Security.

The first phase, launched in November 2024, provided free life insurance for registered creatives, administered by Guardian Life Insurance Group.

The minister expressed confidence, as she awaits the report on the official adoption of the life insurance introduced last November.
