This year’s Reggae month celebrations is the largest since it began in the year 2008…That’s according to Culture Minister Olivia ‘Babsy’ Grange.

She suggested that this is necessary with 2019 being the 50th anniversary of the birth of reggae music.

Also, the Minister notes that with Reggae being listed among UNESCO’s list of global cultural treasure, in November 2018, efforts were made to make this year’s celebrations a memorable one.

Meanwhile, the Minister notes that a number of Jamaicans will be honoured tomorrow at the the Reggae Gold Awards. Those who will be honoured would have contributed significantly to the development of the music.
