Two retrofitted mobile units were handed over to the Court Administration Division to facilitate the participation of vulnerable witnesses, enabling them to give their testimonies from a remote location.
The units have been retrofitted with state-of-the-art audio-visual equipment which includes video conference capabilities, LED monitors and televisions, a hydraulic lift to facilitate persons with disabilities, seating to accommodate up to 12 persons and storage cabinets.
Justice minister Delroy Chuck said the handing over of the two buses is another step in the direction of the greater use of technology in the courts.
