The Portland Police are probing the circumstances surrounding the death of an eight-year-old girl, who was reportedly found with a bag over her head at West Baptist Avenue in the parish yesterday (Fri) .
She has been identified as Venice Burke.
Reports are that the child was found unresponsive and taken to hospital where she was pronounced dead at about 6:30 pm.
Police are awaiting an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
