COPS PROBE KILLING OF WOMAN AND WOUNDING OF HER DAUGHTER

Detectives assigned to the Criminal Investigations Branch CIB have launched a probe into the killing of a woman and the wounding of her daughter on Red Hills Road in Kingston yesterday (Mon).

Dead is 51 year old Cecelia Robinson-Lawrence, a domestic helper of Red Hills Road.

Reports are that about 11:48 am, Robinson Lawrence’s 21 year old daughter was attacked and hit on the head several times.

The daughter managed to escape and alerted the police and neighbors.

When the police arrived, Robertson Lawrence’s partially burnt body was seen lying face down on the veranda, with the hands and feet bound.

Both women were taken to hospital, where Robinson Lawrence was pronounced dead, while her daughter was admitted for treatment.

Meanwhile, the house had been set on fire and the blaze was extinguished by residents and five fire fighters from the Half-Way-Tree Fire Department.

Detectives are asking anyone who can assist with the investigations, to contact the Constant Spring CIB, at 8-7-6-9-2-4-1-4-3-5 or 8-7-6-9-2-4-1-4-2-1, 1-1-9 or the nearest police station.
