The Centre for Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse (CISOCA) detectives are investigating the abduction and sexual assault of a three-year-old child in a community in Montego Bay, St. James on Tuesday.
The infant has been hospitalised in serious condition after undergoing surgery.
Investigators reported that about 11:00 p.m., the child was at home sleeping when an intruder entered and abducted her.
During a search of the community the child was discovered at a property.
CISOCA detectives and members of the Child Protection and Family Services Agency visited the scene.
