Ciara and Russell Wilson’s Why Not You Foundation has donated US$250,000 to support families recovering from devastating wildfires in Washington’s Spokane region.
The donation will provide US$150,000 in immediate disaster assistance and US$100,000 for long-term financial support, including expenses not covered by insurance.
The August wildfires forced more than 65,000 people to evacuate and damaged or destroyed over 900 homes and businesses, leaving many residents struggling to find housing.
The contribution will also support local Salvation Army programmes, including food assistance and emergency housing for young people.
