Happy Birthday, Chronixx!
Yesterday (October 9), the Zee carried the story of reggae star Chronixx dropping the tracklist for his second studio album. Well, it is here, and it is already topping charts!
Chronixx dropped the album today (October 10), which also happens to be his 33rd birthday, and received a well-appreciated birthday gift.
Within hours of its release, it soared to the top of the iTunes Top Reggae Albums Chart.
Fans were ecstatic about the announcement but are even more excited about the project, as social media fans are stating that Chronixx did not disappoint.
Despite the 8-year wait since his debut, Chronology, Chronixx makes up for lost time with the 17-track album.
Fans state that Exile stays true to roots reggae, which is filled with live instruments like drums, guitar and bass.
Critics state that the sound is authentic and nostalgic yet modern.
Themes of upliftment, love, growth and maturity, family, perseverance and strength are common themes throughout, and Chronixx even pays tribute to reggae and dancehall icons such as Super Cat, Nicodemus, Early B and Burro Banton.
The album is produced by British producer INFLO, who is known for his layered sounds that work perfectly with Chronixx's vision.
