Jamaican singer Christopher Martin is recovering after a stage accident during his performance at the Radisson Blu in Freetown, Sierra Leone, early Saturday morning.
According to event organizers, Martin fell through a section of the stage due to technical issues and was quickly assisted off, visibly limping. He was taken to the Emergency Room for an X-ray to rule out any serious injury and is now said to be “doing much better.”
Martin later addressed the incident on Instagram, writing, “Giving thanks for life every single day…During my performance in Sierra Leone this morning, there were some technical issues on stage that led to a very unfortunate situation, but I’m okay and recovering well.”
The stage scare comes just ahead of the “Cheaters Prayer” singer’s appearance as co-headline act at Sunday’s Food Rum and Reggae concert in Kingston, alongside reggae powerhouses Capleton and Agent Sasco.
