US singer Chris Brown was arrested earlier this morning in Manchester over an alleged bottle attack that occurred in London in 2023.
The singer was detained at 2 a.m. at the Lowry hotel in Greater Manchester.
He was previously accused of an unprovoked attack on producer Abe Diaw at a London Nightclub in Feb. 2023, when he allegedly struck him with a tequila bottle several times and punched and kicked him while he was on the floor.
In a statement to the Guardian, a Metropolitan police spokesperson said, “A 36-year-old man was arrested at a hotel in Manchester Thursday, on suspicion of grievous bodily harm. He has been taken into custody where he remains.
Brown is currently in the U.K. for his upcoming “Breezy Bowl XX” tour, which is kicking off at Manchester’s Co-op Live on June 15 before making stops in London and Glasgow.
He is slated to kick off the North American portion of the tour on July 30 in Miami.
