Children’s Advocate, Diahann Gordon-Harrison is urging the relevant stakeholders to act swiftly to fix the Troy Bridge at the border of Trelawny and Manchester, to ensure the safety of children and other residents.

The bridge which collapsed on August 18, last year, has left hundreds of residents, including children in danger.

With the resumption of face-to-face classes earlier this month, students have been commuting across the river using a log as a makeshift bridge.

The Children’s Advocate has expressed concern about the situation. She said the safety of the children who cross the risky path daily should be of the utmost importance.
