CELEBS REACT TO UVALDE SCHOOL SHOOTING

Yesterday May 24, 2022, 18-year-old Salvador Ramos opened fire at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, United States, killing 19 children and two teachers, and wounding about 16 others.

Celebrities shared their thoughts and called for greater gun laws in the wake of what is now the deadliest shooting at a U.S. grade school since the 2012 attack at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut.

Actor and Texas native Matthew McConaughey shared a statement on Instagram that reads, “As you all are aware there was another mass shooting today, this time in my home town of Uvalde, Texas. Once again, we have tragically proven that we are failing to be responsible for the rights our freedoms grant us”.

Rapper Kanye West announced that he postponed the launch of Yezzy Gap X Balenciaga in light of the shooting. “In light of the tragedy in Uvalde, Texas, we are postponing the Yeezy Gap Engineered By Balenciaga launch until Friday, May 27,” the statement reads. “As we pause, our hearts go out to the families and communities impacted.”

Rapper 21 Savage tweeted, “I really cant believe kids really have to worry about being safe at school that is crazy to me very crazy”. Missy Elliot wrote, “we living in some TRYING TIMES… It’s Heavy”. Becky G tweeted, “ENOUGH IS ENOUGH”.
