The United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention CDC, has issued a level 3 travel notice for Jamaica, warning its citizens against travel to the island.

This as the CDC says Jamaica’s Covid-19 level is high. The notice has increased from level 2.

Meantime, the level 4 advisory issued by the US State Department for Jamaica, also due to Covid-19, remains in place.

On Monday, Jamaica recorded over 1,500 new Covid-19 cases and 15 deaths.

The Health Ministry says 540 persons are hospitalized, with the virus.

As a result of the surge in cases and hospitalizations, only emergency cases will be accepted at Jamaica’s public hospitals, starting today.
