Veteran coach Calvert Fitzgerald believes the Jamaica Football Federation’s search for a new Reggae Boyz head coach is merely a formality, insisting interim boss Rudolph Speid is already the preferred choice.
The JFF recently invited applications for the vacant position following Steve McClaren’s departure last November.
Speid has led the team in recent competitions, including the FIFA Intercontinental Play-offs and Unity Cup.
Fitzgerald described Speid as “the most powerful man in football in Jamaica,” arguing that his long-standing involvement within the federation has put him in a commanding position for the job.
