Calabar High School and Camperdown High wrapped up the preliminary round of the ISSA/Digicel Manning Cup with a 1-1 draw in their final Zone D match at Red Hills Road on Saturday.
Camperdown took the lead in the 25th minute through Jahreem McKenzie, but Calabar quickly responded, with Jayden Perry equalizing five minutes later in the 30th minute.
The draw secured Calabar's second-place finish in the group with 23 points, two points behind group leaders St. Andrew Technical High School (STATHS), who dominated Haile Selassie High 5-0 in their game.
This result marks the first time in seven years that Calabar will advance to the second round of the competition, giving them a much-needed boost of confidence.
