Reggae and Dancehall legend Buju Banton took to Instagram today to allege that aid meant for hurricane Melissa relief had been tampered with and some items were stolen.
This, two days after the artiste announced that he had organised medical supplies meant for victims en route to Jamaica in a series of reels to the social media platform.
Banton posted an image of a half-empty barrel with the caption "How can I be happy about this...The things [have been] stolen at the very port. How can we be better, you let me down Airport Jamaica...I won't be quiet, too [many] crooks. Fire dem now", seemingly accusing airport staff of the theft.
The artiste continued his thoughts in the comments, saying "So much was stolen, it's not even funny", "We nuh good at all".
In an Instagram live, he went on to explain that the situation is “painful” and that his feelings are hurt.
The aid appeared to be a part of joint efforts with Jamaican American pilot Barrington Irving that included over 50,000pounds of items, ranging from medical supplies, temporary housing, food, and water headed to Montego Bay.
