Pop icon Britney Spears is back in the headlines after a late-night run-in with the law that quickly turned into a hospital visit.
The 44-year-old singer was reportedly arrested in Ventura County, California, last night (March 4) on suspicion of driving under the influence.
According to reports, she was taken into custody, booked in the early hours of the morning, and released just a few hours later.
Things did not stop there. Sources say Spears was transported to a hospital early this morning so authorities could draw blood to determine her blood alcohol level. While the official test results have not been released, insiders claim the singer told people her level was 0.06, which is below California’s legal limit of 0.08.
Her manager, Cade Hudson, described the situation as “an unfortunate incident,” adding that Spears plans to cooperate with authorities and take steps toward getting the support she needs. He also noted that her family, including her sons, will be spending time with her as loved ones work on a plan focused on her well-being.
Details surrounding the arrest remain limited, and Spears has not publicly addressed the incident yet.
