Now 47-years old, RnB singer Brandy is finally confirming her rumoured age-gap relationship with Boyz ll Men singer Wanya Morris. She was 16 and he was 22.
When speaking on the relationship, Morris maintained that the couple fell in love and started dating, after Brandy had turned 18. Details surrounding the relationship has come to light in Brandy's memoir Phases, where she opens up around her trauma stemming from the relationship saying it left her scarred and Morris had taken advantage of her teenaged self's youth and naivety.
Brandy says their romance began shortly after their collaboration on the hit song Brokenhearted and they began "sneaking around". Speaking to US entertainment platform USA Today, she said " She genuinely believed they had true love. In a passage of Phases, she quotes "For years I struggled with how I was treated in this relationship. He saw 15-year-old girl with rising fame and admiration for his talent, and I believe he deliberately took advantage. This was a 22-year-old man who I believe knew exactly what he was doing when he pursued an underage girl".
