Dancehall Icon, Bounty Killer's influence on Dancehall continues to be recognised, and we are here for it!
Yesterday (July 2), the Caribbean Elite Group announced the first honorees for the 2025 Caribbean Music Awards.
The prestigious award ceremony is set for August 28 at Kings Theatre in Brooklyn, where fans will get to see the "Benz and Bimmer" artiste receive the Lifetime Achievement Award for his global impact on dancehall.
This announcement comes just ahead of his return to the U.S. stage this weekend (July 5) for his performance at Reggae Fest.
Meanwhile, Soca legend, Super Blue, known for his signature "Jump and Wave", will be honoured with the Calypso Honors Award, and Kerwin Du Bois will receive the Producer Honor for his genre-crossing influence.
Masicka and Shenseea lead with 7 nominations each, followed closely by Patrice Roberts and Kes with 6. Meanwhile, Vybz Kartel, Buju Banton, Nailah Blackman, Chronic Law, and Kranium all scored 5 nods.
For this year's event, more than 200 nominees will be recognised across over 40 categories.
More performers and tributes will be announced as the show date approaches.
