It is hard to believe that Queen Bey has never won or ever been nominated for an Oscar.

The 40-year-old singer landed her first-ever Academy Award nomination this morning (Tuesday) in the category of Best Original Song with the track, ‘Be Alive’. Beyonce co-wrote with ‘Be Alive’ with Dixson for the biopic King Richard. The biopic tells the story of Venus and Serena Williams’ father Richard, and stars Will Smith in the title role

Beyonce is up against Lin-Manuel Miranda, who is nominated for ‘Dos Oruguitas,’ a Spanish love song about two caterpillars that he wrote for Disney’s animated musical ‘Encanto.’ Other nominees in the category include Billie Eilish and Finneas, for the James Bond song ‘No Time to Die’, Van Morrison, for ‘Down to Joy’ from ‘Belfast’ and ‘Somehow You Do’ from ‘Four Good Days’.

Beyonce currently holds the record for having the most Grammy wins.
