Prime Minister Mia Mottley has earned international acclaim once again, securing a spot on the Forbes World’s 100 Most Powerful Women list for the third year in a row. In 2025, she ranks No. 99, cementing her place among the world’s leading figures in politics, business, and philanthropy.

Forbes recognizes Mottley’s ongoing global influence, especially her passionate advocacy for climate action, her diplomatic leadership, and her instrumental role in guiding Barbados through a historic constitutional transformation.

Her Forbes profile highlights that Mottley became Barbados' first female prime minister when she was elected in 2018. It also underscores her emergence as a prominent global voice on climate change, particularly noting her powerful 2021 speech to the United Nations General Assembly, where she urgently called for swift and decisive action.

That same year, the United Nations Environment Programme honored her with the title of “Champion of the Earth for Policy Leadership.” Forbes also emphasizes Mottley’s leadership in Barbados’ monumental shift in governance, with the country becoming a parliamentary republic in November 2021 and formally ending its status as a monarchy with the Queen of England as head of state.

Mottley has been consistently featured in the Forbes Power Women rankings in recent years, including in 2023 and 2024, further highlighting her enduring influence on the global stage.
