Bahamas urges global community to take climate change more seriously

The Prime Minister of the Bahamas, Phillip Davis, has emphasized the need for the developed nations to take the issue of climate change more seriously and warned that small island developing states (SIDS) continue to be particularly vulnerable to environmental calamities.

He issued a dire warning, saying that no nation on earth is immune to the effects of climate change.

Mr. Davis claims that the threat is existential to small island governments like the Bahamas.  The World Meteorological Organization recently reported that sea levels rose more swiftly in the Caribbean region than anywhere else in the world in 2021.
