Audi is to make its debut in Formula 1 in 2026.
Chairman of the Audi board, Markus Duesmann, said on Friday that the German car company had officially registered as a power-unit manufacturer in F1.
Audi has not said if it will run its own team or simply supply engines.
It said it would make further announcements before the end of the year.
