The festive season is upon us, which also means it is the season of giving back and spreading love.

So far, we have already seen two of our favourite female athletes giving back to the community from which they came.

On Saturday, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and her Pocket Rocket Foundation treated residence of the Waterhouse community with grocery bags and gift certificates.

The affair was held at the Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce resource centre in Waterhouse. Shelly and her foundation along with corporate Jamaica donated just about 2 million dollars in cash and kind.

The worlds current fastest woman alive, Elaine Thompson- Herah, also on Saturday gave back to her community of Banana ground in Manchester.

Elaine, who recently established her Fast Elaine Foundation, personally handed out care packages to parents, who also received supermarket vouchers while children received stationery items. To add to the excitement of the day, Elaine also made it her duty to take photos with members of her community and spent time reading through books with a few kids.
