According to several sources, at least eight people are dead and many others were injured after a crowd surged at rapper Travis Scott Astroworld Festival in Houston on Friday night.

It is said that at least 50,000 people were in attendance at the sold-out festival. The second night of the festival, which was scheduled for Saturday, was immediately cancelled as the extent of the casualties of the first night became evident.

Scott released a statement saying, “I’m absolutely devastated by what took place last night”.

As more details unfold of what took place that night and the damages being assessed, it is now reported by TMZ that Scott, Drake, who also performed and Live Nation are all being sued over this “preventable” event. Roddy Ricch, who played ahead of Scott at Astroworld, pledged his festival earnings to the families of those who died.

Travis Scott has committed to helping those who have been affected by the stampede, as well provide full refunds for all attendees who bought tickets to Astroworld. Scott has also cancelled his appearance at Day N Vegas Festival for Saturday, Nov 13.
