The battle for the second automatic semi-final spot in the Jamaica Premier League (JPL) intensified on Monday as Arnett Gardens secured a crucial 3-1 victory over already-relegated Vere United at the Anthony Spaulding Sports Complex.
The win snapped a five-game winless streak for Arnett Gardens and brought them within two points of second-place Montego Bay United, who suffered a setback with a loss to league leaders Mt Pleasant FA on Sunday.
Montego Bay remain on 72 points, while Arnett Gardens climb to 70 points with just two games left in the preliminary round.
