Pop star Ariana Grande is hitting pause, not panic.
During her Chicago show, the singer reassured fans that her decision to step back from the spotlight after the Eternal Sunshine Tour was planned long ago, not a reaction to recent headlines or online speculation. “The announcement... was not a reactive or impulsive thing,” she said, adding that it came from “a thoughtful and empowered place.”
Grande also pushed back against online speculation, telling fans, “Multiple things can be true at the same time.” She explained that setting boundaries and taking a break doesn't mean she's unhappy, calling the tour “the most healing, beautiful... experience of my life.”
She emphasized that setting boundaries and taking a break can coexist with what she called the most rewarding and healing chapter of her career.
Her team confirmed she'll step away from public-facing work after the tour ends on September 1, citing relentless public scrutiny, including comments about her health.
Grande also urged fans to ignore online narratives, saying the love she shares with them is far more real than any internet noise.
