Argentina could face a FIFA fine after players displayed a banner supporting their country’s claim to the Falkland Islands following their World Cup semi-final win over England.
The banner read “Las Malvinas son Argentinas,” which means “The Falklands are Argentine.”
The Falkland Islands remain disputed between Britain and Argentina, with the two countries fighting a war over the islands in 1982.
FIFA previously fined the Argentine Football Association in 2014 after players displayed the same message before a friendly match.
The governing body has not yet announced whether Argentina will face any punishment this time.
