Ardenne High School in St. Andrew has initiated a programme of testing for Covid-19, for the entire school community.

The initiative was executed in partnership with Technological Solutions Limited TSL, under the leadership of Ardenne alumnus Dr. Andre Gordon, founder and CEO.

Ardenne and TSL agreed that it was necessary to move aggressively to avoid any additional disruption in the learning process, by assessing the school’s risks through timely and more complete information.

This comes against the background of this week’s official confirmation of a fifth wave of Covid-19 infections in Jamaica.

Principal Nadine Malloy explains that there had been some positive cases at the school.

Ms. Malloy says the proposal was to begin testing of the staff yesterday (May 18).

Seventy four tests were completed on day one, with the programme expected to accelerate towards the end of the school week.

The Ardenne Principal says attention will now to be turned to the students and talks have been taking place with the PTA President.
