Another TikToker Murdered On Live: Baba Skenng Fatally Shot During Livestream

Share

Jamaican TikToker Baba Skenng, born Jabari Johnson and son of reggae artist Jah Mason, was shot and killed during a livestream on Monday evening (April 28) in St. Andrew.
The chilling incident unfolded in real-time as Johnson laughed and chatted with followers during a TikTok “match,” moments before a masked man approached and fatally shot him.
The video, now circulating online, shows the TikToker requesting a “snipe” just before the fatal ambush. Johnson had recently returned to Jamaica after being deported and had gained a modest following for his animated livestreams.
The killing took place near Red Hills Road, an area recently shaken by gang-related violence. Baba Skenng is now the latest in a disturbing string of Jamaican TikTokers killed while live, following similar cases involving Niah Gang and 41 Busshead last December.
The trend is fueling growing concern about the safety of content creators operating in volatile spaces — where digital clout can come with deadly consequences.
