Rapper PnB Rock was killed while dining at Roscoe’s Chicken & Waffles in L.A. on Monday afternoon. He was 30 years old.
LA Rapper, whose legal name is Rakim Hasheem Allen was with his girlfriend when the incident happened.
According to a witness report, the shooting happened after an attempted robbery. The suspect brandished a firearm inside the restaurant and demanded items from the rapper.
PnB Rock was shot almost immediately by the assailant during the robbery, the witness said.
Earlier in the day, PnB posted an Instagram video of himself wearing several chains. His girlfriend also shared an Instagram Story tagging the restaurant location.
Nicki Minaj who collaborated with the late rapper on the track “Fendi,” reflected on working with him while seemingly addressing his girlfriend.
“After Pop Smoke there’s no way we as rappers or our loved ones are still posting locations to our whereabouts,” she tweeted. “To show waffles & some fried chicken????! He was such a pleasure to work with. Condolences to his mom & family. This makes me feel so sick. Jesus.”
Cardi B seemed to counter Nicki’s suggestion and tweeted
“I highly doubt ***** was looking at PMB’s babymom IG,” she wrote. “He was in a bad location and people stay outside plotting. It’s very irresponsible and inconsiderate to blame her for something so tragic. We should be sending nothing but love to her and his family at this time.”
PnB Rock released two studio albums, 2017’s Catch These Vibes and 2019’s TrapStar Turnt PopStar, and collaborated with artists including Ed Sheeran, Meek Mill, and Chance the Rapper.
