Legend Reggae singer and the father of Grammy award-winning sibling group Morgan Heritage, Denroy Morgan, has died.
Reports are that he passed away last night at his home in Atlanta at age 76. Singer Mojo Morgan confirmed his father’s death.
A statement released by the Morgan family states: “It is out of our sincere love that we share that our beloved father and patriarch, The Honourable Ras Denroy Morgan, has ascended. Daddy has been our light, our source of love and joy all our lives. Our family thank you in advance for your overwhelming love and support, and we ask for your continued prayers as we go through this process. We also ask that you respect our privacy during this time of healing.”
In 1981, the legend had a smash cross over hit, ‘I’ll Do Anything For You’. The song entered Billboard Magazine’s pop, R&B and dance charts and was eventually certified gold. In 2017, Denroy Morgan received the Key to the City of Brooklyn, New York.
