Alkaline’s New Rules concert made a triumphant return to Jamaica, drawing a massive crowd to the Trelawny Multipurpose Stadium. But similar to the most recent international staging, the venue was packed at full capacity, parking maxed out, unfortunately some fans didn’t make it inside to see “The Man Himself.”
Vendetta fans showed up in their thousands singing the Vendetta Boss' songs word for word as phones lit up the audience capturing each moment.
Alkaline touched the stage at around 2:30am and was greeted by screamng fans. He kicked things off for the ladies with fan favorites like Pretty Girl Team, On Fleek, Spoil You, One More Time, Company, and Side Chick. Then, he shifted gears for his “Detta thugs,” delivering high-energy hits like Extra Lesson, Formula, City, and the anthem Champion Boy.
This is New Rules’ first local staging in three years and featured a great lineup of local stars, including Tifa, Munga, Intense, Silk Boss, Armani, Brysco, and Knaxx.
Tifa, promoting her new single I Want a Man, used the show to kick off a global tour and ensured that she showed out, especially for her female fanbase.
Though fans seemed to thoroughly enjoy the show, what most fans seem to be talking about is the brewing feud between upcoming star Armani and Valiant. For those who missed the show, they woke up to a now trending clip the "HAAD" singer sending a melodious diss to fellow Dancehall star Valiant. One social media fan commented "Mi ask e G a wah cause dis, him sey him nuh know needa".
Safe to say that New Rules was a success and the event is back and bigger than ever.
