Actress Selma Blair has been arrested following a mid-air incident aboard a Delta Air Lines flight from Los Angeles to New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport.
Law enforcement sources state the aircraft went into lockdown after Blair reportedly became disruptive, with crew members having to restrain her before landing.
Blair allegedly attempted to open an aircraft door mid-flight before attacking two flight attendants. One crew member sustained a bite mark, while another suffered a laceration.
Upon arrival at JFK Airport, Port Authority police took Blair into custody. While being transported to Jamaica Hospital for medical evaluation, she allegedly kicked a police officer in the head and subsequently assaulted a nurse.
Authorities confirmed Blair faces state assault charges stemming from the incidents involving the police officer and hospital staff.
A representative for the 54-year-old Legally Blonde star stated that Blair suffered a severe "medical emergency" on board and confirmed she is currently in stable condition.
