The Jamaican theatre community is mourning the loss of actress Lakeisha Ellison, whose life was cut short earlier this week by illness (breast cancer).
Tributes have been pouring in from colleagues and friends, remembering her as a vibrant and talented performer who lit up every stage she touched. Poet Majah Bless honoured her memory with a heartfelt poem, while veteran actor Oliver Samuels confirmed her passing.
Ellison, a member of the Area Youth Krew and a thespian, built an impressive résumé starring in both local and international productions for theatre and television. Though gone too soon, she leaves behind an indelible mark on the acting community.
