JPS is reporting that about 15 per cent of its customers are still without electricity, as the company continues efforts to repair damage to the national grid caused by Tropical Storm Grace.

JPS’ Corporate Communications Director, Winsome Callum says although teams were able to restore service to some communities last night, they still have close to 100,000 customers without power.

The parishes with the largest number of affected customers are: Kingston & St Andrew, St James, St Mary, Portland and Trelawny.

JPS is reminding customers that the restoration process will take time, as it has to be done in keeping with international safety standards, to protect the technical teams, customers and the electricity network.
