In the latest twist of what is being dubbed “Keeping up with the Gargamels’ on Social media, Abihail Myrie has disappeared from Instagram and Twitter.

Several users were alerted to the fact that both pages on the popular platforms were disabled this evening.

The development comes after separate statement were issued from two different lawfirms purportedly representing the 21 year old daughter of Reggae Legend Buju Banton.

She also took to Twitter early this morning to make more allegations of abuse against her father and her older siblings.

Yesterday the police listed Myrie as missing and said they would need physical proof of her wellbeing before removing her from their database.

Buju Banton is yet to comment on the matter, however Jahziel Myrie, another of Buju’s children yesterday confirmed that his sister was not missing.

The incident has spurred much conversation on social media and come at a time when many local entertainers or their families have alleged abuse at the hands of work colleagues or family members.

Just this week the daughter of another prominent entertainer came forward with her own story of mental and physical abuse.

Reggae singer Tony Rebel’s daughter Davianah took to social media this week where she shared bloodied pictures of herself and a medical report

In the report, it is stated that she suffered blunt force trauma to the right side of her face and nasal damage.

In a post she says she was abused by her domestic partner.

Tony Rebel is quoted in a local newspaper as saying that he and his family will support Davianah through her ordeal.
