The Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) Secretariat has recommended former Kingston Mayor Delroy Williams as the candidate for Clarendon Central in the upcoming general election.
This decision follows veteran Member of Parliament Mike Henry's announcement that he will not seek re-election.
While Williams was the sole applicant for the position and has reportedly secured widespread support within the constituency, some supporters have expressed disappointment over the selection process, particularly those backing May Pen Mayor Joel Williams, who had been endorsed by Henry.
JLP General Secretary Dr. Horace Chang has acknowledged these concerns but emphasized that no final decision has been made, as the recommendation is pending approval from the party's Selection Committee and Central Executive.
