Selena Gomez Cries

Share

American singer and actress Selena Gomez, earlier today (January 27), broke down in tears on Instagram while addressing fears over mass deportations under President Donald Trump, which sparked concerns about family separations.
In the emotional video, the 32-year-old actress apologized to the Mexican community and expressed frustration at feeling powerless.
Gomez later deleted the post and shared a message criticising the backlash she received, captioned, “Apparently it’s not ok to show empathy for people.”
This comes after the US’ nationwide immigration raids that resulted in 956 arrests.
The “Lose You To Love Me” singer, who has a personal connection to immigration through her family's journey from Mexico, has been vocal on the topic.
In 2019, Selena produced the Netflix documentary “Living Undocumented” and wrote about her own family's immigration story in Time magazine, expressing her commitment to being a voice for the voiceless as a proud Mexican-American.
