20-year-old Junior Young, an entrepreneur of Rock Pond district, Red
Hills, St. Andrew was charged with Possession of a Prohibited Weapon and Unauthorized
Possession of Ammunition following an incident in his community on Saturday, January 18.
Reports from the Red Hills Police are that at about 2:58 a.m., lawmen were on mobile patrol in the
community when Young was seen acting in a manner that aroused their suspicion. He was
accosted and searched during which a Glock 19 pistol with a magazine affixed containing thirteen
9mm cartridges were found in his possession.
He was taken into custody and was later charged for the offences on Sunday, January 19
following a question and answer session in the presence of his attorney.
His court date has not been finalised
