Gabriel Jesus Breaks Two Unwanted Records As Arsenal Thrash Crystal Palace

Gabriel Jesus put an end to two frustrating records as Arsenal cruised to a 5-1 victory over Crystal Palace, reigniting their English Premier League title challenge.

Handed just his third league start of the season, Jesus wasted no time making an impact, scoring after only six minutes at Selhurst Park.

The goal ended a personal drought of 24 Premier League matches without finding the net, a streak that dated back to January.

Astonishingly, it also marked Arsenal’s first goal from open play in three league games, silencing critics who suggested the team had become overly reliant on set pieces.

Jesus wasn’t done, doubling his tally in the 14th minute to restore Arsenal’s lead after Ismaïla Sarr had equalised for the hosts. The Brazilian came close to completing a first-half hat-trick when his shot struck the post, but Kai Havertz was quick to capitalise on the rebound, making it 3-1.
