Dancehall icon Vybz Kartel is now in Trinidad and Tobago to promote his recently launched rum, STR8 VYBZ.
Kartel took to his social media to share the news via a post that was captioned, "Trinidad I'm here #str8vybzrum launch"
This visit marks his return to the twin island republic in almost 10 years.
This comes just weeks after Trinidad-born artiste “Yankey Boy” staged a protest against Vybz Kartel’s upcoming performance for Trinidad Carnival in February, 2025.
Meanwhile….While in Trinidad Promoting STR8 VYBZ Rum, Kartel was mum on the Caribbean Music Festival carded for next year carnival.
During the launch of his STR8 VYBZ rum at Angostura Solera Wines and Spirit, at Victoria Avenue, Port of Spain on Friday, Kartel was asked by TV6 about the show.
Kartel responded, “No comment.’ However, when pressed, he said: “I cannot speak about the show because now I am just here promoting the Angostura, Vybz Kartel collaboration, no disrespect.”
When pressed further, he reiterated "no comment", saying, “You are a very determined interviewer, and I am a very determined interviewee.”
