A panel from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has recommended against approving a booster shot for the Pfizer-BioNTech Covid-19 vaccine.
The decision is a blow for US President Joe Biden who said the extra jabs would be available as early as next week if approved.
Following a meeting on Friday, the FDA’s scientific advisory committee voted 16 to 3 against the boosters.
They did recommend them for people over 65.
