Prime Minister Andrew Holness has indicated that when the next batch of Pfizer vaccines arrive in the island, it will be administered to children only.
This in the wake of criticism that the government mismanaged the first batch of doses, resulting in the need to suspend administration of the Pfizer vaccines, to ensure that students got their second shots and then postponing administration, due to uncertainty about when the next shipment of doses will arrive.
Over 82 thousand persons are due a second dose of the Pfizer vaccine.
Speaking in Parliament yesterday (Wed), Mr. Holness noted that the Foreign Affairs Ministry is seeking to get more Pfizer doses soon.
He noted that the Pfizer vaccine will be reserved for school children.
